But then, that's understandable if you've seen the ammount of attention they're putting on each individual mission. Briefings aren't just talking heads anymore, they involve talking to various npcs, interacting with the UI(galaxy maps, purchasing technology, reading info, etc), plus various scripted sequences in between. When you have a 30 mission campaign, that's a whole new game in itself.

Three separate releases is incredibly lame. Who cares about campaigns? Campaigns aren't what made SC a success; if that's their focus then the game is going to be a huge disappointment.

but the campaigns are meant to be dynamic "choose your own adventure" arent they? its actually the only thing im finding mildly interesting about starcraft 1.5

uhm...did they say how the changes to starcraft 2 would change the multiplayer experience? I don't care about some silly campaign, give me the competition.

i dont think it makes any difference at all.

if anything, all this decision seems to imply is that they're done with the MP, and that's what makes SC awesome, and you'll get the MP faster this way if they dont wait until they finish all 3 campaigns.

Pretty much the same way brood war did, except now there's two BWs instead of one.

To be perfectly honest, no, I would not mind waiting until 2011 for a finished product to be released.

Comming from someone living in Milton, I can see you strongly perpetuating the notion that your IQ is considerably smaller than your belt size. Keep your "idiot" comments to your self and fuck off, if you have nothing of any depth to add.

If you chose to want to spend money on an unfinished product, more power to you, and off you go. Personally, I don't. I feel that it is not worth my time nor attention until the game, in its entirety, is released. I also do not wish to pay retail three times, for one game. Further, it is also disappointing to PC gaming in general to see one of the arguably more successful studios start nickle-and-diming their long lived and loyal fans. Especially on such a significant game release, one sure to sell well. If you want to slurp up whatever slob is spat in front of you, by all means, enjoy it. That is your choice. I am not dying to play this game, nor will my life be missing anything if I chose to wait. I simply said that, as a loyal fan of Blizzard for many, many, many years, this is a BS call on their part.

IMO, I still see this as filler. Yes, they've said repeatedly that the scope of the campaign will be fairly large. Speaking to NPCs, and interacting with the UI, reading info, is just a lesser narrative in progressing the story. Now, I know, online will be large part of this, but part of the appeal of the original SC was to play through, and get some joy/inspiration from the game experience, then delve into the strategy of online play. A huge minus is not having the ability to do this right from the get-go. Its why I completely stopped playing Warhammer after only a few weeks.

I don't see how making 30 terran missions would be different than making 10 missions for each race and releasing 3 diff. parts/expansions. In effort or time required for release.

It'll be a bit strange for newcomers and veterans to only play through terran then jump online and figure out the differences in zerg/protoss from SC1 > SC2 without any campaign missions behind them.
