IMO, I still see this as filler. Yes, they've said repeatedly that the scope of the campaign will be fairly large. Speaking to NPCs, and interacting with the UI, reading info, is just a lesser narrative in progressing the story. Now, I know, online will be large part of this, but part of the appeal of the original SC was to play through, and get some joy/inspiration from the game experience, then delve into the strategy of online play. A huge minus is not having the ability to do this right from the get-go. Its why I completely stopped playing Warhammer after only a few weeks.
