We can't really know what's out there. Therefore, we'd better not waste our time pretending we can

Usually does not come up in discussion but if it does, I tell that I'm an atheist.

Agnostic here, pending more into atheism than the other way around. I'm in a very heavily catholic island.

I go the "pretend" way with my family, because my grandmother is a hardcore catholic that would spend nights awoke thinking I'd go to hell. My mother is quite catholic too, and tries to make me go to church every Sunday - and almost every Sunday I make up new excuses not to go. I just feel out of place there.

With everyday random people, I try to ignore the subject as well. I've met some ultra conservative muppets that had boiling me in rage from the inside with their nonsense (not necessarily connected to religion), but controlled myself and just ignored the subject.

With close friends I am open however - but the subject very rarely pops up.

So basically I'm part of a minority, and in the closet.

I don't really look at the PDD that much, but everytime I lurk, all I see you doing is posting quotes and videos made by other people. Afraid of thinking by yourself and exercising a little more of your creativity in words?

While I appreciate your apparent concern as well as your ingenuousness, I do think it's kind of foolish for anyone to come to such a conclusion based solely upon the limited degree of perception that a simple messageboard post might be able to provide.

While I am partial to asserting my creative energies elsewhere where they can be more productively maintained and not just denigrated by idiotic trolls and mindless critics, I greatly enjoy expounding upon the thoughts and ideologies of the many great minds that have come before me and intend to continue doing so until the day that I die.

I hope that isn't too difficult for you to understand because that's just how I feel.
