Guys, if you lived in the area and did not go to the zone like you do, you'd probably feel the same way.
There's absolutely no benefit to having the zone in your neighborhood unless you go there. That corner is sketch enough as it is.

I have been to the zone and I do think it is worse than other clubs in the city as far as drug use goes.

you could say the same thing if it was a Burger King there. If I don't go to Burger King then what is the benefit of having the Burger King there.

No, you could not say the same thing, as burgers are legal, drugs are not.
And people do not leave Burger King fucked up on french fries and act erratically on the street outside.

No matter what happens to the Comfort Zone the scene will still exist. The scene will reinvent itself around whatever venues are available.

Zone has already made it's mark in history and we'll be supporting it until the last beat has reverberated through it's basement walls.

I LOVE CZ

Whoa, hold the fuckin' phone.... Your issue is not with CZ but with the clients, particularly those that use drugs. If that's the case then you should be looking for increased police presence rather then the closure of a business. You can't honestly believe that a business is wholly responsible for the actions of it's customers.

you could make the slippery slope arguement that burger king contributes to litter because it's customers throw wrappers on the ground. And in this era of so called garbage reduction measures it's a very possible arguement. People are already trying to ban drive thrus for god sake!

As i always say. If you dont want to live in a big city, DON'T!

no...I don't think anyone is getting fucked up on french fries...but what stops customers from doing lines of blow off the table to help wash down their burger?

It seems you have a bigger issue with the party goers then the actual club.

If I felt the zone could or would operate without entertaining the clientele that I find take away from the neighborhood, then I wouldn't have a problem with it - but what do you think the odds of that happening are? A police presence would have the same net effect anyways - business would drop (as it did after the raids) and eventually the place would close. So if the end result the same either way, don't waste time and taxpayer money prolonging the inevitable.

At least these people have somewhere somewhat safe to go. This is just going to drive the afterhours more underground, in totally illegal warehouses, etc where there is less security. Less security means less help when it comes to an overdose, or a fight, or a fire hazard, etc.

Not good.

so let the club die a natural death instead of letting politicians decide. If the place is a problem and the cops are there and that keeps clients away so be it. And i hate to say it, but democracy and democratic practices cost money. We could just say "why waste money on courts, just throw the buggers away!" But that would be silly wouldn't it?

By the way, police presence should be responsive instead of imposing. Otherwise you create more problems
