I lived at Front and Spadina for 3 years remember???? And there were numerous shootings. Hell, we couldn't even get the car out after Coxy because there was a shooting in the car park.
I am not suggesting knee jerk reactions to shootings but there has to be considerations in residential areas and as I said before, actions result in consequences.
Who knows what really happened that night, I am sure no-one knows EXACTLY what went on but the reality as far as we know is that an 'innocent bystander' was shot to death from stray bullets outside a dodgy pub in a residential area.
Perhaps wait for the findings of the investigations to be published before trolling the board with your 'oh woe is us in Toronto' bullshit.
If your point to sensationalism was just posting an article from a paper, I am surprised you're not quoting the whole of the World's Press.
Edit: And from what I can gather, the DOY would be no loss to the area anyway, this is really a shit place, not a perceived shit place from stick-up-the-arse politicians who don't understand EDM.

Exactly so before you open your mouth and attempt to want to close everything you "think" is a threat, wait and find out what really happened before making a terrible mistake in blaming the pub for the death. I'm sorry there is no logic in your argument, technically if your right then every establishment that is around danger should be shut down. It shouldn't be shut down but more investigated to see if the establishment aggravated this or had nothing to do with it. IMO i think Canada should do exactly what Britain does, BAN HANDGUNS. We don't need them, ETF does and some police officers do in some cases. Shutting down another establishment is not going to make this place safer, but getting that psycho behind bars will. I believe he turned himself in, no?
