Anyway, I'm with the general consensus that this is a SHIT idea.

We are talking about a very very small minority of sick people that want to perve on kids (anorexic kids in philbys case).

I don't think child pornography is found easily anyway? Wouldn't it all be done on private FTP and P2P networks etc?

The point being, people that want to look at that shit know how to use a computer, they know how to get around filters etc.

The rest of us then have to suffer, with the KRudd government thinking they are protecting us.

i think that's a grossly over-simplified sentiment. government's enact an ideology through policy and compromise in the house(s). if you look at the history of western liberalism, there's an awful lot of examples of government's attempting to 'free up' their people.

as fucked up as this policy is, i dont think it has malicious overtones. its just an example of government's attempt to do the right thing, just in a stupid and inevitably useless way.
