If I walk into a bathroom and the shower curtain is opaque and stretched across the tub / whatever I have to pull it back to make sure nothings back there.
I also don't like going up flights of stairs in the dark because I feel like there's something creeping up behind me.
Sometimes I get creeped out that there might be bugs or something in my bed so I peel all the bedding off to check. This is probably because when I was younger I had a cockroach scamper up my arm and neck while I was reading in bed.

Whenever I swim in Texas rivers and lakes, I fear getting infected by amoebas (very hard to cure).
I used to have all sorts of irrational fears about my health, but after a lot of doctor visits those have mostly gone away.

i have an incredible fear of gas stoves.
every time i cook at home, i have to pull my stove away from the wall and turn the gas valve on and then i turn it off again after i'm done cooking. i also don't keep the pilot light lit and instead i light it with one of those long lighters. i refuse to use the oven portion of it and instead i have a really nice big toaster oven for my baking needs.

back when i was a kid and i had to get something from the basement i'd turn that last light off and run as fast as i could up the stairs, b4 the boogie man could get his hands on me. looking back would insure your death.
