you completly missed the point. Fight on for your cause, that is not the problem. To petition/protest to reopen the ballot on a prop because the outcome was not in your favor? That questions the fabric of what america stands for.

I have no religious interest vested in this prop, but there have been no rights intiatially afforded to gay couples that have been revoked with this prop. An institution was simply redifined in order to uphold its original intent.

the republicans called, they would like to start a petition for a redo of the presidential election, they didnt like the outcome of that one. Soon to come, petitions for elections where seats of the house and senate were lost.

to open this back up is to say our democratic process is no good, and if you dont like how we vote, just start a petition and will let you vote again until we get it right for you lol.

while i agree with you in general, in this case i think it's a bit of a catch 22 -- what else can we expect voting on a minority's freedoms when they need a majority vote to win? seems a bit bass-ackwards to me.

Yea, but the fabric needs some cleaning. It's stained with discrimination.

Not how I view it, here's another perspective:

On May 16, 2008, the California Supreme Court affirmed that the state constitution, AS IT WAS WRITTEN BY THE FOUNDERS OF THIS STATE MORE THAN 150 YEARS PRIOR, provided official government recognition of all marriages between all couples, regardless of gender.

On November 4, 2008, Proposition 8 amended this constitution to explicitly deny this right to same-sex couples. Nowhere else in either California's constitution or the Federal Constitution are a specific class of rights restricted, to any minority group, for any reason.
