To be brutally honest, I can understand why people might have said "Do it" to him. You'd have to be incredibly patient and caring to tell the 1000th kid who wants to commit suicide that there is a point in living and all that. There are, as this story proves, people out there genuinely being serious but they get lost in a sea of people exploiting others for attention. Plenty of people are cocks on the Internet about this kind of thing, but a lot of people have just got fed up of people crying wolf.

I understand scepticism is the #1 attitude you need to have in lots of things in the internet, but I think you're exaggerating the "kids who do it every single day". I've been on TA for 6 years and the only time I remember a stunt like this was when aplz supposedly had an overdose and a couple hours later was posting on the message board "from the hospital".
