To be brutally honest, I can understand why people might have said "Do it" to him. Kind, caring, empathetic people on the Internet are exploited every single day by kids making suicide claims just for the attention. I've seen it happen on forums, and it's always the same bullshit. I used to take these things seriously, but after a while I was ground down into a "fuck it, I don't care" mindset. You'd have to be incredibly patient and caring to tell the 1000th kid who wants to commit suicide that there is a point in living and all that. There are, as this story proves, people out there genuinely being serious but they get lost in a sea of people exploiting others for attention. Plenty of people are cocks on the Internet about this kind of thing, but a lot of people have just got fed up of people crying wolf.
