most definitely. what lens do you use btw?

I will defer to photographers of TOTA, as I don't know that much about cameras, but another site I've used over the years that seems to have good, detailed reviews:

http://www.imaging-resource.com/

I'm quite pleased with the Canon PowerShot SD 1000 IS that I bought a couple of months ago while I was in San Fran. I wanted something inexpensive, extremely portable, decent video, but without sacrificing image quality too much. After doing a bit of research, I chose this one. no complaints at all...but it's obviously *much* lower end that what you're looking for, lol. Another positive vote for Canon though and highly recommended for anyone who just wants a camera for vacations, taking to parties, etc. and not 'serious' photography.

what are you going to be using it for? what's your budget?

i'm guessing zoom is important to you since the one you have is 10x. check out some of there cameras, http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/com...dsch9&show=all.

They all have a large zoom range and are all in the same class. i can't tell you which one is better, but i have used the canon s5IS and it's nice. however, i've seen really nice pics taken with the panasonic which is also has the widest lens out of those. zoomed in, it can go up to 18x.

i might bring it in one night to see what i can do with my kit lens (18-55 IS). it sucks that i really don't have money for anything else. although i might buy a 50mm prime in the next little while.

I have a canon 50mm lens f1.4...I think it's missing a lens cap (I need to check the box), but it's pretty much brand new, I have only used it like twice or three times. Let me know if you might be interested. I think I bought it for almost 400, but I would sell it somewhere in this price range 250 - 300.

I have a Canon rebel that I don't take to clubs often, but I have in the past. I also have a small digital camera that I take with me always in a purse...It was a bit over 200$, and it's fantastic...the video quality is amazing 2!!!
