I've never really been a regular in the UK forums, especially now I don't live there anymore but I see a lot of the people in this thread post regularly in the other sub forums.

WTF is going here? I actually came to check the UK forum to see what will be going for NYE as I'm back in blightly then, and see this forum has completely died? What's going on? It used to be several hundred posts a week?

It's weird, it's not as if the music is dead - in fact I'm having the time of my life in the USA - it's like being back in 98!!

Seriously check out the USA california forum - it's THE site all EDM/dance music related events/chat/bollox going on in the west cost.

Maybe it's becuase the UK forum was just about trance, whereas the other countries use it for all sorts.

Anyway, if you want to see this forum back up, the easiest thing to do: start posting and start talking to oter people about it.

I think the problem was people's tastes in music got far too divided, and that meant there was little music talk to be discussed between one another as there was before. Club scene dying also, of course

HAH! I completely forgot about posting this thread, what a numpty!

Awww I miss all you guys It's been way too long. I definitely think a reunion of sorts is needed!

What's everyone doing and listening to these days? I've not really changed musicly, still loving Epic Trance but have also got right into filthy Hard NRG Hard House too. Also decided to start Uni this year (a few years late sure but it beats working for the next few years!) and am going to Ibiza for the season in the summer \o/.

In a nut shell, I have moved to Preston for a decent job and I'm listening to any form of electronic music which is decent really, from ambient to drum & bass passing through prog house and trance.

What uni have you gone too?

And I fancy Ibiza this year........as I have NEVER been before.

Ibiza is lifechanging - and I'm not exaggerating. I went for the first time over a decade ago and it changed everything. I went back in 2005 and although different, was still magical and like nowhere else on earth I've been.

Do it.

On another note - I can't figure out what's happened to the UK? I left to live in the states a year ago and EDM and DM clubs are thriving, in all it's forms, especially prog, trance and tech. It's like the UK was several years ago, in it's prime.

All the big British and European DJ's appear regularly, in nice clubs, with people that are up for it.

Everytime I speak to someone back in London, another legendary club is closing. Bagleys, The Cross, The End, SW1, Camden Palace (now rock venue KOKO), Home, all gone, pacha apparently on it's last legs and probably to shut v soon. Where do 5m young people go out now?

Well I had never been before last year, went out for the opening parties and had the most amazing time. So good in fact that I went out again for the closing parties too. as it's my first year at Uni, going out this summer will be the best time to go.

Oh and I'm going to Bournemouth Uni, which is just down the road from my flat so I didn't need to move anywhere

Dunno, the UK is becoming a nightmare for big nights these days. There are still a lot of big nights around but not so much in London. I blame the recession

Its hardly dyeing though, for every club that shuts down another one opens. The London music scene is as crazy as ever.

I went to the opera house in Bournemouth for slinky classics last weekend and it was a complete sell out. Great night out.

Sad though that the nights that sell out are classics nights. Don;t get me wrong, I love the classics, but new clubs are struggling and the existing ones are folding. 2008 saw the loss of the egg, bagleys, the cross, the end, the SW1 and those are just the London ones!

I think a lot of promoters just don't have a clue of how to put on a good night anymore and the ones that do just find the costs too high. Hopefully the recession will sort that out like it did in the 90's.
