Actually, I read the whole thread, and while I realize that you said the same thing in your first post, Jay's post was closer to where I was in the thread (the end) to quote. I'm lazy.

Its really just a smart business move. If donating money to make TTC transport free for the night prevents one person from getting behind the wheel and killing someone and saving the business from getting sued its well worth it.

not to mention the great deal of promotion it generates for your clubs via mainstream channels like news papers and TV

Ahhh someone finally clued in. You have all forgotten the marketing ploys directly involved. This is ingenious as far as attracting an enormous crowd for NY's. People will know ahead of time that they have a safe way of getting home. What does this promote? Get as mangled as much as you can because you will still have a "safe" way home regardless of what state your are in (so long as you can get on the TTC safely)

Nevertheless, I can definitely applaude them for their efforts and money well spent as far as "catering" to the general publics safety.

I was going to say even if it prevents 1 person from drinking an driving then it is a success.

so based on this logic, maybe we should have free ttc every weekend... then no one shall drink and drive...no?

cos apparently people cant afford to take the ttc but can afford to drive instead...

riight!
