Each Nimitz class has 80 aircraft on it. In the event of war there would most likely be 3 carrier strike groups in the Gulf. Thats 240 planes.
In the Indian Ocean there is Diego Garcia which can have a huge compliment of aircraft, mainly B-1, B-2, and B-52s as well as support aircraft such as tankers and AWACS. This base can support a long campaign.
Also there will be most likely a few SSN and SSGN subs in the area, SSGN (basically an Ohio class SSBN with its Tridents replaced with cruise missiles) can carry 192 Tomahawks.
There will be losses, yes, but there is no doubt in anyones mind, not even the Iranians that eventually the US would gain control of the skies.
Also, not at home in Iran? The sky is the same all over the globe.
