i never see mexican people in SF begging for money in union square, civic center, or tenderloin....come to think of it, i dont see too many mexican people in genereal. I do see many working in the restaurant kitchens or the hotels I stay at though.

With my fiance being 1/2 Cuban, 1/2 Mexican, tamales are in every Xmas dinner with her family. I am not a big fan of them, but I do like them occasionally!

Although, the infamous "Tamale Lady" in SF has AWESOME ones.

And she is awesome. Goes around with a cooler through all the hangouuts int he Mission District of SF and actually has "Tamale Lady" shirts. I support her because she has used all the money gained from it to put her five kids through college. Amazing dedication and amazing lady when you think about it.

Well, I tend to like what's in the tamale....just not the read. Usually has a chalky texture which I don't like!
