Cheers for sharing your thoughts with me. I was pretty concerned about this, actually, because I think that even though the aim of any set should be to put a coherent string of tunes together and mix them interestingly, I think when you add the restrictions of a single artists catalog and still want to represent a wide variety of sounds, that becomes a lot more difficult.

It was relatively easy to figure out there was going to be a deep house section to this mix, and a diva house section from the outset. Figuring out how to get from one to the other was a bit of a challenge.

Finally, and I'm not saying this to toot my own horn here, but my favorite segment of this mix is 11-13. I rarely get to play such banging, old school house these days - that was a real treat.

I gave this a listen on the car on the way home from work. I really liked it. To be honest, I barely knew any of Rozzo's back catalog. The only tunes I had heard from him were "Blue" (which is one of my favorite tracks of all time) and a couple of his releases as Mountain People, which I wasn't a big fan of. I did liked The Mountain People productions that you chose though, probably earlier work that wasn't too repetitive.

I wasn't listening with headphones, so I can't really comment on the mixing fine points yet, but from what I could tell it was pretty much spot on. The way you programmed the set was awesome, I think it would be impossible to tell that this was an artist tribute mix unless someone knew most of the tracks before. It has THAT much variety. It flows quite nicely from the deep tech of the beginning into the funkiness and soulfulness that you brought in with "Blue" and onwards. It's not really a surprise to anyone that the ending was definitely my favorite part of the mix.

Once again, great mix Rob. This warrants many more listens from me

Mellow, typical Rozzo sound for the intro. Nice edit, did you do this yourself? Well done.
So here's this not-deep-enough, not-tech-enough sound that really resonates, especially for "opening" music. If there is such a thing. The mixing was, of course, spot on, I don't expect any less from you Robert.
What's the problem with Rozzo? Tunes are sometimes drawn out and over-repetitive. But I'm proud of you for finding a middle ground, you've already fit in the 3rd track in under 10 minutes (by the way I LOVE the percussions on Womanizer). So, so far, I'm not bored and finding this at a pleasant groove.
There is a steady balance between the tunes so far (a bit under 20 minutes in now). There's nothing that jumps off the page like "huh... wonder why he put this here". So track selection is fitting and relevant... at least in the first third of the mix.
About 21 mins in, there's a noticeable increase in energy, it has something to do with the synth that walks in and a couple of strings in the background. But this one felt a bit drawn out, it continued well for another 5-6 minutes. Did I like it?... well yes, but just as easily bored. Personal preference?... sure.
Nice! Really like this next tune, it got a bit more techy and glitchy, good variation to throw in after a somewhat, as previously mentioned, "mellow" opening sequence. I think it does wonders for the energy and interest of the listener.
Another GREAT energy-boost with the track selection around 35 mins, almost prog/tech now. High five for this one, you've been steadily building up a climax over the past 20 minutes, which (in my opinion) should hit in the next track... though this one could very easily be it. There's a nice spacey pad/sound I'd love to get my hands on for future use.
I love the jump into the more housey stuff over the next two tracks. The vocal track (I think this is it... "I see the way!" ?) is a definitely "cum for me" moment. So much variation so far in this mix, and all from one artist, it's fantastic.
The finish leaves some crisp progressive melodic elements over a deep house tune. What else does it leave? Well "wanting more" for one.

Best tribute mix ever. Do Dahlback next... Or maybe I will... they say imitation is the best form of flattery.

Alright, just finished listening. I've gotta say, this set accomplishes the mission quite well. However, it wasn't much my cup of tea, overall. I honestly thought a lot of the tracks were quite bland and I guess this artist just didn't really "click" with me as being anything spectacular. Not that they aren't good, by any means... and, of course, not that it isn't mixed well. I don't think I even need to review your technical skill anymore. Smooth-as-butter, as always, and well-progressed.

I kinda typed down notes as I listened... here they are:

The intro really does nothing for me, and kinda makes me wonder if the set is going to go anywhere.

Love the percs @ 9:00, overall nothing really grabbing me though.

Transition into 14:05 very nice... like how the kick comes in. I typically don't care for tracks that have a vocal that constantly feels the need to remind you that you're listening to house music by saying so, but this is done so subtly that it isn't too offensive.

Nice percs coming in at 18:15. Bassline is okay.

Approaching the 20 minute mark, finally starting to sound like some funky house is on its way. I almost wish the set started here... but, then, perhaps I wouldn't appreciate it as much as I do with the lead-in. It is helping pick things up a bit, but I expected a little more to happen with this track, honestly. Was waiting for some big lush pads to come in, but it kinda stuck around with the stabs and bassline for the entirety of the track.

Got kinda bored through about 34 minutes, and then suddenly there's this rise in energy provided by the sidechained pads. One of those "attention grabbing" moments. Gets things moving a bit.

40:40... there, now that's my type of rhythm. Sounds very Jooris Voorn-ey. Like the "touch of trance" that tries to sneak in around the 43 minute mark. Love the extra hats that come in just before 45 minutes. Nice shuffle on these percs. Around 46 minutes I have just been reminded that I'm listening to house music and I'm starting to feel dancey. This is more my speed. Ah, there's the diva vocals... wondered if those were coming. Not spectacular but they do the job, here.

Next track is rather odd. It's neat, but I dunno if it really does anything for me. The last track was an excellent choice for a finisher.

Again Rob, great job here... but, not probably something I'd really revisit too much (except for maybe getting those tracks between around 40 and 50 minutes... I'd say that was my favorite part.)

Sweet set Rob, I was digging that. Never heard you spin tunes like what were playing in the last three quarters or so though, so that was a touch unexpected. Good unexpected though Flow and mixing were tight, as usual. Nice work mate
