This is were you're wrong and maybe naive. It really isn't idiotic to check IDs. It's not a waste of time if you're filtering the under age people out. Like I said...the younger generation looks older than they are so it's deceiving. Besides, It's a compliment to me to get checked if you think I look young and not old.

I ID people all day at work, for both cigarettes and for alcohol. You can't just TELL. Usually my guesstimate for how old they are is straight wrong. IDing is important, as people have said it filters younger kids out and keeps the establishment working how it should. No one really has a problem with it but for some reason you seem to think getting ID'd is this huge hassle one must deal with while it's not.
