My Theories – spoiler alert if you take them seriously
The jughead bomb will be buried with lead and tons of cement to contain its radiation. This will be the Swan station. The islands electromagnetic properties will come into play with the 108 minute diffusion of the bomb in that station.
Widmore turned the wheel at some point, triggering “The Incident” referred to in seasons past, and exiling him off the island.
Faraday’s Widmore-funded research was to somehow figure out a way to harness space/time travel to return to the island. I bet the lady in the bed was “stuck” in some state of transit (same as Desmond’s successful aneurysm style time travels) due to his experiments, and he’s trying to find a way out for her.. maybe because that’s his mother – Widmore is his father – Widmore was funding her treatment too.
Richard Alpert visited young Locke with some sand, a knife, and the compass, asking which one belonged to Locke. Locke chose incorrectly at the time. After Locke gets put in his wheelchair he’s visited by Abadon which sets another series of events in motion to get him on the island.
Great episode last night!
