RTS Anicent art of war, Karataka(sp?), swashbucklers, the orginal castle wolf(and smurfenstein), and wolf3d, aztec, castlevania(sp?) "the Princess dies at dawn" damn hard to beat as you cant save, wasteland one of the first rpgs where death was death, spacequest / most sierra games around that time, zork, spare change(I need to hunt down a copy of the music), wing commander, life, populous(sp?) the god game, sim city, tradewars2000, ABM, lemmings, scorched earth, that one doctor game where you can slice someone open with a scalpel with out any anstitcis(sp?) and hear that nice pc speaker scream (life or death?), ET <- wtf are you suppose to do in this game anyways?, as much as I hate to admit it DDR(dance dance revolution), COMBAT, tetris, donkey kong, hardhat mac, congo bongo, .... dah enough for now

I think most of the truly original games of modern times arn't computer games, if that counts. For example dungeons and dragons, and the other rpgs begining at the time of its creation were, and still are incredibly groundbraking, nothing even close to it before. Magic: The Gathering is another groundbreaking game, as there wasnt anything even resembling it when it was created. As for as computer games go Id have to look at all the old clasics which basically created the genres,wolfenstien 3d, the original ultima, simcity, all the games that helped create a whole genre.
