He was probably very emotionally involved in his character and by the sound of it this isn't the guys first fuckup. Christian was surely just having a bad day and this was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back i suppose.

I've worked as a DP's assistant before. Their work is high-pressure trying to work practically and keep the producers and execs happy. It's fucking hard, even on simple scenes! I can say I feel for this guy getting an ear bashing. Bale just lost my respect.

Bale is the batman, but as an actor he sucks hard. It doesn't matter if you watch batman or prestige or whatever ,he always acts in the same way with that disturbing flat monotonous voice.
