Since my first rave in 94 - this event, I will easily place in the Top 3

Opulent Temple was that AMAZING!

Great seeing those from here =)

I'm in such awe of this night

This event really did capture the vibe from old raves from the 90s, with modern brushstrokes of today's current and different scenes

The vibe was fucking GREAT!

Thank you so much for all the kinds words you shared with about myself and nice meeting some of you for the first time.

I had rockin fuckin time weaving that crazy dancefloor of artwork and dancers into a hypnotic and twisted set.

This night made me happy

I AM SO PROUD OF EVERYONE AT OPULENT TEMPLE FOR MAKING THIS NIGHT HAPPEN

You're such a dedicated family to love. It's awesome

I was looking forward to this event so much. I even lined up my trips to LA to be sure I was in SF to go to this, but am dealing with family emergency stuff and ended up flying back down to LA during mid-week.

Hope to see some amazing pics. It was gonna sorta be my going away party, but guess I will have to cram all my goodbyes between the clubbing folks and old workmates into next weekened

lol @ everyone who stayed home... that was one of the coolest fucking parties ever! EVER. the music, the energy, the crowd, the environment, holy fuck the environment--everything was amazing and uniquely so. i wouldn't even know where to start, you can't really explain the vibe that emerged from that music with that crowd in that environment. i say this all being lightly buzzed to sober most of the time, having just a few shots and a few beers at the beginning of the night and then some bowls later on. the party should have never ended imo. i will just say this though, the music was nonstop goodness, beginning to end. so was the hotness of the crowd. god damn that was a hot crowd.

haha i'm sitting here laughing my burner ass off at all you people just realizing we have the best fucking scene anywhere in this country

great. fucking. party.

homourbourous room was the best music all night. got there early to catch my friend jonboy's set. caught the end of floorcraft's set in the deep end. wandered for a while then ended up in the main room right before the start of carl cox's set. we put up with it for about half an hour before we decided that it was a shame but coxy just wasn't playing that great a set (it happens) and it was a bit too crowded with fur and leather for me. went back into homourbouros and got met with slamming breaks from aaron jae and smoove, caught up with a friend and we danced like crazy for a while. then we went over to the opulent temple room where cosmic selector and then dulce vita were giving us everything they had. holy fuck that room was beautiful. met some great people there. ended up back in the main room for a while, it hadn't gotten much better so we left again relatively quickly and finished the night dancing in the deep end.

usually i hate big parties and the main reason i went to this one is because i had so many friends who i wanted to see there. music wise, carl cox was disappointing but luckily we have local talent in san francisco that puts headliners from around the world to shame and they tore it the fuck up. i had no problem finding music i loved at any point in the night. other than giving carl cox his chance i mostly avoided the main room. it was too loud, there were way too many ravers and hardly any burners, and the music wasn't very good. and just like on the playa, if you don't like it you leave cause you'll find something better no problem. the decoration of the place was pretty awesome. the homourboros statue itself is fucking cool, wish i had seen it on the playa. serpent mother as well, though it wasn't lit thanks to the hangar's wood construction.

and all in all it was fucking fantastic. my friends were there and we all had a great time. i met a bunch of people and danced with friends i rarely see. super well decorated and it had a room specially designed to attract all the ravers and there was always good music to be found. huge props to the organizers and to the volunteers who set it up and cleaned it up and worked the event.

Hell yeah, what a freakin' wicked party last night~! I've been to most the massives/raves since mid 2007, and this could easily top them all. Ya, I'm still noobie.

The scene, the vibe, the art, the music, the people and on and on are way above my expectation. Gotta give props for the people for making the freaky monkey go around and the crisp bass heart bumping and light show setting in the main room. They are amazing!

I hope there are more events host at that beautiful perfect location as well. And 21+ is the way to go~!

wasn't last bm your first?

i've been to bm parties in sf before, have heard a majority of the djs on the bill and enjoyed them all, but none of the past experiences hold a candle to friday night's festivities. there were several djs i wanted to hear in the other rooms, but i just couldn't bring myself to leave the main room the entire night. halfway into syd's closing set, complete exhaustion had set in--as i made the mistake of hitting the gym earlier in the day on top of working several hours lifting, building and cleaning in the hangar--so i was ready to pass out. i made my way into the front room to leave around a quarter to 4 and the music in there was rocking. still couldn't bring myself to exit the building. i ended up doubling back and hearing the rest of syd's set. i don't regret the volunteering part because i ended up getting a crew wristband that allowed me access everywhere, including the catered food/drink room (score!), but i do regret not being more proactive about getting all my friends to come out, and being severely underdressed the whole night (not realizing until meeting up with alain right before that this was going to be a full-on bm-themed costume party).

some crowd shots from mv gals....

ya i thought i was over raves after my first skills experience, but this is one case of an enjoyable rave without all the overwhelming ugliness associated with modern day raves (no k-tards, e-puddles, zombie teenies, light shows, pacifiers, sweat, bo, rude people charging through the crowd, etc)... and i'm not a big fan of lasers, but those lasers were pretty fucking cool.

last BM was indeed the first i actually attended but i had been involved with the burner scene around here for a couple years by then. almost everyone i know in the city (minus some of my friends from Stanford) and everyone i've been partying with since i moved out here is a burner. it was instant recognition that this scene is something truly special and we are lucky as all hell to live here and be part of it. i'm just glad people are getting on the train.

i see. well burning man is next on my list of things to do if i can't afford brazil by next year. i was gonna go this year, but miami came first since my last miami trip was so whimsical that i didn't plan for any of it. i'm going after the full spectrum of dance music culture, city by city, year by year... plus i'd like to drag as many of my friends along for the ride, which will take some convincing
