You know, there's a reason why I decided NOT to go into any medical programs at a college. I knew what Shaolin is talking about, I was thinking about the issue in a similar direction, knowing full well how well pharmaceuticals are connected to science, all that "research" and all those "facts".

I appreciate it, and do whatever I can to make sure I dont contribute a penny to the pharma-fucking-ceuticals. Unlike millions of people out there who are coerced to fall for the system and become dependent on various "treatments" which are extremely profitable for big pharmaceuticals. Some people who are both healthy and then take up the advertised and encouraged products and lifestyles to end up paying for drugs which make them even more dependent and more profitable for the industry. Yeah, have a fat salty greasy Big Mac every day, munch on some aspartame drink and MSG-filled sauce, drink some alcohol, etc. etc. etc. - and we'll see how healthy you'll be some time from now.

Cure for cancer alone would put millions of people out of business and work. Not that I am saying that the cure is already out there - but think about what I said in the previous sentence. Cures are just too easy, you see.

If everyone who was born healthy and stayed healthy, it would be a disaster for these pharmaceuticals and corporations. Disaster. And besides, there too dam many natural choices (as Firestarter mentioned) to so many ailments and problems, but the dam industry would rather have you buy their products - WITH SIDE EFFECTS to all of them. And then you buy another product to cover the side effect of that side effect and so on and on.

You wont find me arguing against the notion that big business has way too much influence in the realm of drugs and medicine. But it isn't logical to go from that assumption to 'all vaccines are bad man' which is the implicit understanding you guys have going here. Vaccines have caused many deadly and/or extremely discomforting diseases to become more or less extinct, and as far as I am aware (and as the OP in this thread indicates) there is absolutely no scientific data that supports the idea that vaccines do things like cause autism. Yes, there is a small percentage of people that have adverse reactions to vaccines, but that is the same for just about any substance you care to mention.

Its wise to be careful about whatever you put in your body, but I don’t find the argument that big business are forcing vaccines onto the populace to be at all compelling, when compared to the obvious and established medical benefits of such vaccines. It doesn't take a "paid for" study by a crooked scientist to illuminate the blatant benefits of various vaccines, most notably the ones I listed above. Anyone near you die/be crippled by polio lately? I didn't think so.

Of course not all vaccines are bad, in my opinion. I never said that ALL vaccines are bad. I believe that many are bad, some are good. But most importantly, it's just the many issues surrounding vaccines that concern me, as with the preservatives, for example ...

I would prefer natural options if I had to consider giving my child a vaccination. At the right time for the child, not at extremely young age for crying out loud, when its likely to have a negative effect. Its a tough issue - without the vaccine the child is in danger, with it there are possible serious side effects. Very tough choices. And there are probably much more dangerous choices later in life when it comes to use of pharmaceuticals. The science is still to be improved on this critical issue of vaccines, I think.

In this day and age, medicine is running into serious problems with superbugs and new diseases, and even more vaccines and treatment might be necessary in the future.

I am not an expert in the issue, but please understand that I will always have huge scepticism when it comes to medicine.

yeah, with diseases like polio, you cant criticise the concept of vaccinations as a whole.

take the reccomended shots when you go to africa lol, there is a reason that countries with access to modern medicine have higher life expectancy rates.

Nonetheless I am not impressed with the system that chooses what gets the resources to go through to FDA trials for approval.

you know for certain antidepressants, a Duke University study showed that consistent exercise alone helped more in the long run. I think the biggest area to focus(for bullshit) is the inexact science of psychiatric disorders. Now, obviously there are people with acute conditions that need intervention, but if you skim through the DSM 4, there is a number of conditions that are downright ludacrous. I have seen a drug passed when the placebo helped 70 percent of the time, and the real drug 78 or 79 percent-in my opinion if the placebo is working that frequently one should really question the authenticy of such a condition.

Im not saying lets trash the psychiatric industry, but we should consistently challenge them, otherwise homosexuality would still be classified as a disorder, and labotomies would be a standard.

VACCINATE YOUR KIDS! i can't stand these parents that think they're in on something revolutionary when all they're doing is putting their child in harms way, probably because a few celebs are doing it and they are on the "in".
