Piggy, you are awesome. Finished the assignment, took me 3 hours...:-/

I don't remember ever using Gaussian matrices in high school...

MATLAB!

edit: or a beautiful ti89 will do the same. rref is very useful but i hate that they make you waste your time in class doing it. its too time consuming. if you can setup the equations then thats all that really matters. any proper calculator or computer will do the calculations for you. its just a very slow process where you really gotta watch yourself in order not to fuck up.

what class is this for? linear algebra?

In France it's taught in Première (= 11th grade).

What loser needs Matlab for this? It's just three variables and a well-posed problem. I've had problems with far over 10.000 equations and variables. That's when you need Matlab!

Right after the course on how to be a pretentious frog-eating fag, I presume.

yes, matlab is not needed. congrats.

i just like bringing up matlab every chance i get. ive had many teachers that live and die by it. and everytime i stumble across matlab i like to yell out MATLAB as it makes me laugh thinking about how one of my professors says it.

Fun fact:
I once spent almost half an hour re-entering "why" over and over in Matlab.

I may be wrong, but this seems like a pretty easy calculus problem. I last took a math class in college (some level of calculus) about 5 years ago, but i remember doing equations similar to these. I took a calculus based course called operations management that did very similar problems. The class was focused on the allocation of resources. I think differential calculus covers this; i may be wrong.

Doesn't matter since it's a system of equations they are all related. It doesn't matter which two equations you pick or which variable you eliminate first. Once you eliminate a variable through substitution solve for the next variable, substitute again, and solve for the last variable standing. You use this number to find the values of the other two variables. Can't believe I remember this crap, I graduated high school in 94 seems like a long time ago
