"Good morning underachievers."
"I bet you did not know that."
"Forgive me if this goes completely over your head."
"...as unknown as the existence of super strings and twice as complicated"
"...after, to which Carl Sagan looked directly at me, smiled and said "Excellent plan, young Jedi."
"Just the same as I had predicted the economic crisis we are undergoing now."
"...the puppet master, Dick Cheney."

IMO what your goal should really be is to convey your ideas in a convincing way. It's better for the prof or whoever the audience is to think your idea is great than for them to think that you're smart. Any sharp-minded audience will have at best a lukewarm response to your presentation if they come away from it thinking "that guy sounded pretty smart, but I didn't understand a damn thing he said." And at worst, they'll think you're full of shit, and give you a bad grade, or not give you funding, or whatever it may be.

Probably the worst possible advice. Good advice to look smart, but also good advice for making you look like a dick. I have a kid in one of my classes who sits front and center and does this, and I think I'm about on the same level with him, but he raises his hand for EVERYTHING. Classes are for learning, not doing everything possible to raise your grade. By answering every question before the slower people in the class have even digested the question, you're robbing them of their education imo. I only generally answer the questions no one else is getting. Still makes you look smart and like you know your shit, but without being an obnoxious prick about it.
I was joking, lol.

Have tons of confidence of what you are saying when they are asking questions , add tons of special effects to your presentation, have impacting images on it.
Ok this might sound a bit off but it always works for me
On the side of your main presentation do an alternative mini presentation , something fresh and interesting to keep the crowd going , but not necessarily related to what you are talking about, the trick is to try that at the end they both come together as the same result so that if you have to prove a point or so it has more of an impact to it . It always works for me at school try it and see how it works .

"I think the scientific and the artistic spirit have something in common. The scientist wants not only to learn the facts, but to understand how they cohere, fit together and make a whole. He even uses criteria such as beauty and symmetry to help decide which theory he wants.
The scientist cannot capture the whole cosmos in thought. In his mind he makes a kind of microcosm, which we see as an analogue of the cosmos. In this way we try to get a feeling for the whole. The artist, I suppose, gets a feeling for the whole some other way.”
David Bohm in “Art, Dialogue and the Implicate Order”, published in On Creativity RC (Routledge Classics)
