I think I'd just try not to think too much about the beatmatching.. I'd tell myself "Tune selection is what counts" and try not to concentrate too much on the beats, so I can release some of the tension off myself even when I trainwreck.

basically, i will talk my nerves down. just think...hey i am playing the music i love for the people. playing live is an opportunity to connect to the people. i have my first "flyer gig" coming up, and i was thinking to just have fun. it is a chance of a lifetime to do what you love. i like to think of it as finally making it, and nobody is gonna fuck that up except for me. so have a great time;
- get a blowjob from a pretty lady.
- drink some beer
- have fun (doin what u love)

..hopefully this made sense...

to mentaly prepare yourself I think it's good to listen to some funky/jazzy/classical/chill out/ smooth music a tad that day .... instead of spending the whole time dj-ing just to practice before the set, or listening to many banging tunes

once the party is around just take your time don't forget to smile to the people , and also keep keep contact and distance with the crowd

it's really hard to explain ... just try to get the vibe going

things i do everytime i'm spinning at a party.
1.pee first (i never forget that)
2.have a drink as soon as i start my set

things i do to relax. i just think of the crowd as a couple of friends at my room, when i'm spinning to impress them. if i'm uncertain if i'm going to make it to the next transition, i do nothing spectacular & try to make it as easier as it can be (i mean no tricks or tricky transitions). after about an hour, i'm so fucking excited with the crowd that i go crazy (people go crazy too) & start my harder style with more complicate transitions. after a while i won't even think about screwing up. it just goes smoooooooooootthhh...

oh, chewing a gum is a LOT of help. it helps that shaking effect to degrade...
smoking on the other hand won't help me calm. instead, it will make me more nervous.

I found something else Moving my head on the beat!

I'll surely start my set with some tracks that I know very well, basic mixing, then after 4 / 5 beers, let's have fun behind the decks

drinking while playing makes me lose it. i only need a drink when i start my set, maybe a second one later. but more than that makes me all my transition sound like trainwrecks...

if the set is long enough i might drink a third, but more than that is no good.

Me I'm always stressed out when i start a set...
I always screw up my first mix...
so I decided to choose my first 2 tracks to play in advance.. and find an average pitch between them to have a perfect beatmatch so that i don't have to stress out during the mix...
When the second track is playing.. i'm already in the party mood so I go on mixing without being scared.

i'd have this problem when i drop an anthem...that I wont hear the crowd reaction coz i'm listenin to which track i'm gonna play next through my phones, so i think before you drop an anthem make sure you should have an idea which track is going to be played after the anthem.
