Four of us went two years ago and it was an evening that will last forever. My girlfriend, my best friend and his girl and I were on because she had recently recovered from six months of chemo and being near kidney failure due to lupus. Dinner was excellent, best food we had at the conference, the other six people at our table were all industry peeps. They were from Giant and thought my friend was from San Fran because of all his tats. There were lots of cool peeps on the boat, the staff was great, the only downside if anything was the very limited bathrooms for those drinking beer steadily.
Headed out from the dock, sat down for dinner, ate then went up on deck for the sunset. Open bar the entire time (even though I don't drink) and had coffee, drinks and cookies / desserts.
After Tommie Sunshine mellowed us away from shore and set a nice groove Sasha and John came on and built it nicely until dark. Then some bombs would get thrown in and it jammed on out. Just watching them mix especially Sasha on Ableton was amazing. When we docked at the end of the night Sasha dropped one last track and the police were at the dock. He bent down and kept it pumping while John was laughing at him.
Priceless memories, outstanding vibe and timeless tracks and mixing. It made the trip for my girlfriend and really picked up her spirit getting out and enjoying life in that setting.
