that brief revival of prog/atmospheric breaks from 03-05 was an amazing time in music in my opinion. a bunch of bedroom producers all writing this gorgeous and intricate music, only problem is it never ended up working on the dancefloor. great stuff to listen to at home though.
fave producers from that era: habersham, momu, lostep/luke chable, digital witchcraft, grayarea, starkid, jacob todd, jeff devas, joel armstrong, opencloud, pb&j, etc.
i would have to say it was all inspired by the old northern exposure stuff...my fave track from that was frontside - dammerung.
