right,
this is ecxactly how I feel about the Djs I dont enjoy as much as the ones I do. It is common sense people. If you don't like him then stop going to his website, stop reading his interviews, stop going to the events his is in, I mean does it really get you guys anywhere??
I don't know if it is just me, but I seriously have a lot of respect and although I hate PVD, or George Acosta I don't go to message boards for that, I go for what I like. And that doesnt keep them from playing at my club either.
life goes on, and when you all get older you tell me if bashing oakie got you any trophie.

Yup. Girls are always right.
Oaky has had som great sets, Tranceport being one of the best, and the mix that got many people into trance. He's also had some great productions.
Now, he has changed his style, i say good for him. he needed a change. I hate his new stuff, but what would be the point of bashing him? nothing at all, unless you think he is coming here to read this stuff!
anyway, i like a lot of oaky, especially his old essential mixes, his track selection rock. but honestly though, i must say, for the "worlds greatest dj" he sure can't mix well!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WANTING MONEY!!!!
It's sacraficing talent for money that should be frowned apon, Oakey is not doing this, he's just changing genres.
Of course, he's not just doing it for money, there's lots of other reasons, but ya know that's probably a core reason...
No, if Oakenfold started spinning Castles in the Sky, then yes, he would be selling out. But exploring new genres for whatever reason is not.
THAT'S THAT.

N'Sync are hardly a band, they don't play they're own instruments and mime on stage
Talent - Collectively U2 have consistently produced some of the most wonderfully written songs from the past 20 years, and they're STILL as popular now as ever (are boyz 2 men ).
Sales - U2 sell an enourmous amount of albums compared to other "pop bands", as groups like N'Sync and Westlife make most of they're money thru singles, NOT albums, they're albums may go straight to number one, but they're staying power in the charts is minimal, and will drop out of the top 20 within a few weeks of release, whilst U2 consistently stay in the top 20 for anything between 4-6 months, and have a heavy selling patch when they release a new single, something which rarely happens with other bands.
Oh and NME and Q have voted them biggest band in the world every other year since god knows when...so there

I watched an Interview with Oakie the other day on Uk Play (british cable channel), and the subject of money came up. Basically he gets a lot of offers to DJ all around the world, and if all the offers were put together he could DJ in 8/9 venues every saturday night. This just isn't possible, so he checks things out, asks other DJ's what the atmosphere and things are like, and then makes a decision, and often goes for the Venue which is offering less money. He plays lots of venues for next to nothing (the one in the desert, can't remember what it's called, he did that for free), and he played in a small town in the US for $800, because one of his fans wrote to him cos he never plays anywhere near, so he went and played in the local club, and he'd been offered a 100 times that amount to play somewhere else in the US. He's making a living, doing what he loves, making a hell of a lot of money, but he's making his fans happy. So less of the bashing
