You already answered your question. If you want to be a doctor for the money on one hand, but admittedly lazy on the other, you're going to be miserable. It's the wrong reason to want to be a doctor and the wrong attitude going in. Also, if you're thinking surgery, you're never going to have good hours, even after your residency is through. Yeah, they'll be better, but I can almost guarantee you'll never have a 40 hour work week.
Why not take a year off and go work at a hospital, do some patient care? Both nursing and medical school are big commitments, and I'd recommend making as sure as possible that's what you want to do before your half-way through medical school, $100,000 in debt and miserable, or a nurse and hating it.
My two cents.
Both are great, wonderful fields (I'm biased, I'll admit), but both are fields you have to like for the right reasons (not just money), or it will be hell for you and your patients.
