How does it work where you are?

Here you get a flat rate per day (I think) and your work have to let you have the time off but don't have to pay you, so this guy I knew who was on a solid wage was losing loads of dollar, and the case just kept extending, he didn't like it.

However when my music teacher had to do it for a fortnight in year 7 I was well glad. Pissing around on keyboards for an hour > actual work.

in new york state courts, the employer pays your regular wages -- if jobless, then the courts reimburse you. i'm not sure about how it works with federal courts, but i'm sure it's the same type of compensation.

*edit* hm looks like employers are "encouraged but not required to pay an employee's full daily wage". my company has paid for my jury duty though.

You work for a law firm...Of course they're going to keep paying your salary while on jury duty. You're you can feed the system that supports everyone.

I loved jury duty. We got long lunches, we home at regular hours. It was vacation.

Reminds me was on the phone with my little bro and asked "much happen at the weekend?" "nah nahhh hmmm ......... guy got beaten to death by two guys but not much else really same as usual".

Was in his year, in the only high school in our little home town. Glad I wasn't home that weekend.
