I’m assuming because it’s really important that you email Jason instead of just showing up... Now that we are on the 5th hookah night the location isn’t as secret as it was before. No password = no entrance. A simple way to ensure everyone follows the rules.

enough people already know the location but we still dont want this being known to the general public (ie. random people showing up because they heard there is a shisha night going on). the email is for a proper head count.
