Thats exactly what I have said many many times over....but the thing is we keep on trucking. To think how many sleepless nights I've had, thinking that I was about to make the next big thing...then it turned out to be junk.

I wont give up now because I have spent too much time and a lot of money...and I know a lot of shit about audio that is pretty much worthless unless I keep producing. The thing is a lot of us on here can talk the shit but still can't get far enough in a track to even finish it. I also still like doing it but I'm not sure I want to produce trance anymore...I have no clue what I want to do anymore...anyway to answer the original posters question...

Don't be put off by all our sour attitudes because we still didn't make it. The thing i believe in is, that music still needs to be made and someone has to make it...so it might just be you.

Like I said before, try it out and see if you like it.

It sounds like a good amount of the frustrated people here just lack confidence. If you think you've wasted your time/are wasting your time, you will never make anything worth shit, it's all in your head people. This music is so fucking simple, use your ears! Stop doing and start listening more.

Uh reality check, "simple?" for what? A piece of shit track?
Yes I agree.

For something that sounds professional, not at all simple.

I'm glad it is the opposite of what you think it is.

Confidence isn't a substitute for ability.

Didn't someone recently post that he had uninstalled all his DAWs and softsynths and stopped producing? I thought I saw that in some thread...

I entered the game too late (~ 2002) so was always going for the sounds of the past rather than moving with the sounds of the future.

I can't know how newcomers to the scene feel about todays trance, maybe it's amazing to them.

I can't be bothered moaning about the state of today's trance.

I've been trying my hardest to like some other fourtothefloor styles, but really they are just bleeps and farts with spaceships and a kickdrum.

I'm moving on... have fun!!

The epitome of what no one here should follow. There is a lot of enjoyment to be had just making music, even if it does not end up for sale. I don't know where my free time could have spent better than working on a piece of music. Being late to making music isn't a reason to give up making music.

I didn't say producing trance was easy. But the music itself is extremely simple. How can you even attempt to disagree with that?

Jesus I mean you guys really must not enjoy doing this shit. I spend upwards of 12 hours a day dj'ing or producing. I'm not a star by any means nor was I trying to infer that, but I am better then a great deal of the people on this site just for the fact I love the music, am a perfectionist, and have the drive to be the best.

Who the fuck wastes their life because they've put time and money into something? If you don't enjoy learning about it and doing it, then gtfo. It's a simple concept, you do what makes you happy, and thats how you become great. If you do things for different reasons then that, whatever they may be, you will never amount to shit because your work will have no emotion and no passion in it.

Read the book the secret

True, but you can't get by having one without the other. For real.

You are the one who needs a reality check. Stop making music to reinforce your belief you are worth something and make it from your heart. Who the fuck cares who else likes your music, make what you like and people will follow. Be a leader not a follower.
