Considering the trend 3rd party developers have followed in half-assing practically all of their Wii efforts, I can't fathom anything near quality either. But if, say, Nintendo came along, and actually did something that they gave a shit about, something special may be possible. Then again, I think this has already been done with the re-release of Pikmin...that's kind of an RTS from the looks of it (never played it).
