Been on a 747 a few times, which used to be called a "Jumbo Jet". Use to fly first class when I took, but that was all on points. IT was fun. But weird. First Class was the very front of the plane. Cockpit was on the upper floor.

whats a good spot near pearson to lie down and have planes fly over your head outside of the landing strip?

You'd think someone would re-design something like the old Concord? You would think more people are interested flying trans-Atlantic in 3hrs vs the current 7hrs, no?

New Concorde to cross Atlantic in 3 hours
Five years after the grounding of the previous Concorde fleet a new Concorde in development is set to fly the skies it predecessors did in record time; the new Concorde will cross the Atlantic Ocean from London to New York in only three hours.

Slated for flight as early as 2015, an American firm is developing a redesigned supersonic Concorde plane to resume the route abandoned by its predecessors. Test flights may begin as early as 2012, with the plane's top speed projected at Mach 1.6.

The grounding of the previous fleet was widely observed to be controversial in part because of the uniqueness in both technical capabilty of the planes and also due to the route they traveled, offering speedy transit from Europe to North America.

The Boeing 747 is STILL called the Jumbo Jet and is the only one....

On all 747's, there is a seating area on the upper deck as well as the cockpit....

Boeing took the direction of improving efficiency and technology with a smaller aircraft (787)...not this behemoth. This thing was a mess from the beginning for Airbus.

first class on points? Either you had connections or it must've taken helluva long time to collect them

I wonder if there are any incentives flying economy in this new plane or the new 787s? or are the benefits only for the $10,000 business class seats? I recall the economy class seats on Jumbo jets were similar to economy seats on domestic planes, extremely uncomfortable for long-haul, 14hr non-stop flights
