I heard smoking isn't good for you. Might just be a rumor though...

have you had a cig yet?? I finally quit over a year ago and it was particulary painful (compared to all the earlier times when I only 'kinda' quit)

On a posivitive note, the nicer, greener smoke, actually does a great job in relieving the stress (buy a dugout w/ a hitter).

Anyways, good luck, your gonna need it!!!!

Good luck man. My girlfriend and I were able to quit for a stretch of about 6-7 months (which is pretty decent if you're a regular smoker).

Then, we started to rationalize that weekend smokings at Circus/Vanguards/raves/etc... were OK! and that somehow got a lil out of control so now we're trying to start over again.

The urge to light one when you're wasted on alcohol or whatever else is huge, but you are right in that at work it's even worse. When you're bored and your co-workers 20 feet away are having smoking breaks it's like you're in hell.

I'm making that attempt to quit as well , next time I feel the urge of smoking a cig , I will go ahead and do something that I really like , just to replace the need of a cig .

I wouldn't smoke for 6 or 7 days at a time once I moved and was away from the clubs. Didn't bother me one bit. The I started working. Got a 25 min drive and everyone smokes at work. You'd think the $7+ packs of cigs would deter me. One day..when I'm ready.

Man I quit in March but relapsed a few times. But I haven't had a cig in like a month. The sucky thing is I still go ape shit whenever I see/smell someone smoking. But not to the point where I go over and bum one, which is what I did when I first quit. So it does get easier.

It's frustrating because I haven't bought a pack in months and I still feel that addiction when I'm exposed to it. But I smoked for almost 10 years, so I figure it's gonna take longer than a few months to totally get rid of that feeling!

Stick with it!

P.S., I still chew a few pieces of gum at work and smoke hookah sometimes at home. If the flavor isn't all that important to you, I'd suggest getting Safeway's brand of gum. It does the same thing, but it doesn't taste as sugary. And I got two boxes for the prices of one, which is still half the price of nicorette.
