it was nice to see a few friendly faces tho and just be out so other than that.........i knew what i was getting into going, so i'll stop complaining now

Wow that sucks!

I guess Cedric lost his touch, and completely took in the Guido/douchbag style. Last time i saw him was at Lovefest last year, and it was a good set. Such a same...

Well i don't mean hes a douche , i just mean hes bringing that into his style of music. I should have been a little clearer.

He has always been slightingly douche since i started supporting him like 4-5 years ago, it just never showed in his music. Then he started hanging out with Sharam and he got a bit more douche, but it still stayed out of the music...

didn't mean to say you were calling him a douche

he's just got that reputation now. and after seeing how he rolled up to the club and how his crew was, i would definitely consider him a douche. the guy that he rolled with gave a lot of attitude to Mario (the door guy) and Mario (a good guy who doesn't take shit) gave it right back. we LOL our asses off.

Dave Dresden [Gabriel & Dresden]

http://www.davedresdenmusic.com
http://www.myspace.com/davedresden

THE EARLY YEARS
Dresden's zeal for dance music and culture developed early in high school where he frequented local Connecticut dance clubs and befriended the Café's DJ Moby, a local dj hero at the time. His early experiences at the Café' fueled his passion to immerse himself in the culture that would become his career and lifelong obsession. From there, he purchased a pair of pitch controlled cd players and got to work. Dresden quickly cultivated a following due to his simple but effective music policy; play the right track at the right time and only play great songs.

JOURNALIST
His ambitions did not stop with spinning. While he continued to play in the clubs sometimes five nights a week, he became a dance music journalist by day. Dresden was named a reporter to the Billboard dance chart, and he began writing reviews and features for national magazines such as DMA, DJ Times and Mixer. Dresden profiled Paul Oakenfold, Moby, Masters at Work, Todd Terry, Sasha & Digweed, Puff Daddy, BT, Crystal Method, Keoki, Josh Wink, Chemical Brothers, and Deep Dish. Many of these artists' first American press came through Dresden's journalism efforts.

A&R
Since his affiliation with respected publications gave him easier access to obscure and unreleased tunes upfront, that gave him an edge. Dresden regularly contributes his A&R skills to Promo Only CD's and its "Mainstream Club" and "Alternative Club" series. In addition, he scouts new music for Pete Tong's highly influential Essential Selection radio show on the BBC Radio 1. Through his efforts there, Dresden has hipped Pete to some rather large records, three of which have become "Essential New Tunes", Tong's method of gauging a guaranteed hit.

Dresden's wide knowledge of dance music led to the opportunity to help select songs for Nettwerk Records popular Plastic compilation series. Dresden has also had a hand in producing compilation cd's and single releases with other independent labels such as Strictly Hype, 4 Play and Max Music. In addition, he's accredited by his own releases for Strictly Hype's trance offshoot Sunrise; Trancendence: The First Wave, and the hit packed Transit .

RADIO
His radio career began with the long running, highly rated "Electro Circus," which aired on Hartford, Connecticut's modern rock station WMRQ from 1997 until 2000. Dresden's radio career continued as music director and on-air personality for GrooveRadio, an internet radio station during the year 2000.

PRODUCER
Dresden now applies his talent and knowledge of the music in the studio, collaborating with various producers on remixes. Currently Dave has been busy remixing tracks with San Francisco producer Josh Gabriel under the name Gabriel&Dresden. To date, the two have remixed tracks for Way Out West, 4 Strings, Dj Tiesto, Rodger Goode, New Order, Beber & Tamara and Paul Oakenfold.

Dave Dresden of Gabriel & Dresden fame is back at Monday Social this week. RSVP now by texting 818.640.0427 for $10 before 11pm, $15 after. Also, everyone that RSVPs and arrives before 11pm receives a free drink.

In Dave's own words: "i will be debuting for the world the completed crystal method remix, the BT remix and the first Dresden & Johnston original song "keep faith" - be there!"

Taken from LA Weekly...

Savvy locals know that you want to catch superstar DJs, but don't feel like being trapped inside a megaclub with 2000 weekend warriors, you wait until the night when the rest of the city is catching up on sleep and head down to Monday Social.

This week, the LA institution promoted by the Bud Brothers brings Dave Dresden to the decks. Formerly one half of the trance and progressive house duo Gabriel & Dresden, the San Francisco-based DJ is currently collaborating with Mikael Johnston in addition to working as a solo DJ and remixer. As part of Dresden & Johnston, his recent remixes include Nadia Ali's "Love Story" and Lily Allen's "The Fear." According to his Twitter feed, the duo is currently finishing up work on original productions.
