Every time I visit this forum, I see mostly idiotic comments, and incorrect or idiotic advice being offered. I didn't say everyone, I said most.

This forum is ground zero for the ableton generation, many of whom consider music a platform from which to gain recognition and/or fame, rather than an art form.

I never said they were alike. I suggested 2 synthesisers that would provide a completely different sound to his current setup.

Lmfao and you think this only applies to the "ableton generation"? Most art forms have these type of people, and have had these type of people for a very long time. This is not some idea that has been generated through the threads of the tranceaddict production forum.

In my 6 or so years of checking out the threads on this forum, I have definitely come across a lot of bullshit. I have never felt a vibe however, that the posts here for the most part, are from people who are not actually into the art making electronica.. Sure most people want a lot of people to know who they are, and hear/like their music. This applies to most musicians in general though. There are only a few who don't give a fuck who listens to/likes their music, which is totally cool too. But to lump everyone on this forum into some image oriented pop culture stereotype, that is just an uninformed conclusion. Let's face it, if you wanted to be rich and famous electronica is definitely not the best route to get there.

And im also sure anyone that says "HOW DO I SOUND LIKE TIESTO???" sincerely means it.

Thanks again for the advice. Going to try FM8 and Alchemy. The advice on getting a book was good too, I do mostly make my own sounds but more knowledge is all good.
