It depends on the amount, if it's a small amount I would let it go knowing that the person would never in their right mind ask me again.
Therefore you no longer have to deal with them period.

If its a large amount then I would definitely pay a visit to his house if he's dodging you. I hope that you got something in writing when he agreed to pay you back. That will hold up in court if you take it there.

money causes problems you don't need. never lend an amount you aren't ok with never seeing again. in fact never lend money period, just give it and if you can't afford to give it they are out of luck.

I unfortunately deal with loaning money to people all the time for gambling and it is easily the hardest money to get back. I cant even imagine what normal people would do to get money back from those type of people who avoid you. I have enough problems being as forceful as I am without resulting to violence. If it isnt for a real big problem, I suggest not loaning people money, unless you trust them and see they are completely responsible...even then, you'd be surprised. hehe.
