Well I just a good listen, because I wondered why then I liked it from the first time I heard it.
This is a track that easily could be made 10 years ago.
I has not many layers, no voacals, is a bit slower and is exactly what I loved back then in dream house.
O, and the melody stays in my head
Love this one too:

I don't really mind Poppiholla and think it's a decent filler track for a set. The issue is that he put out such epic tunes in the past we expect him to bring that same epicness and anything that falls short seems like a failure.
I just feel that Chicane is just trying to earn a few extra bucks by putting out a single here and there. Far From The Maddening Crowds and Behind the Sun were great.
I have the same opinion of Chicane as I do Paul Van Dyk. Their releases at the beginning of their careers were amazing so nothing really can meet those expectations, especially if they are trying to make club tracks. Seems like both guys are trying to make tunes for a particular purpose in mind instead of just making music and seeing what happens.

Well, maybe that's exactly what he did. Who's gonna ask him?

Regarding remixing/remaking Sigur Ros..
David Gates (of Salt Tank) also made a version of Hoppipolla under his project Patient Saints guise last year. That version is much more happy happy uplifter than Chicane's (or even the Thrillseekers' remix of Chicane's version)

Happy hardcore style is back (more or less)
I prefer the Chicane version though.
