I remember when I taught myself autocad. It is just like MS Piant but has 1000 options to draw about anything you want with things that at one point MSpaint don't got.

Bought two tutorial books. 1 Hour a day for each chapter along with the program for about a month or so. At some point I can't remember I had an interview and had to perform stuff on autocad that I tuaght myself(offset,trim,extend,so forth) and it all came back and that I think was key to getting that job.

Make sure when you do your time per day on it you don't forget how to use the previous stuff. Always start from scratch for any assigment/tutorial because repitition is key. Generally in any program I feel you will probably use 20% of the tools most of the time but the other 80 can be used whenever necessary and you will have seen them before.

Aside from the mech army at the beginning, the animation is technically primitive. A few objects keyframed here and there and some camera motion.

The layout design, environmental control, lighting, texturing and physics construction is fucking epic though.

I wish I had the time to use Photoshop , if you want to learn the basics about layers I would install Paint Shop Pro. It might not be as elite as photoshop but if your looking to create basic graphics whats the point of learning photoshop

BTW how much did you pay for PS CS ?

Even the lay out on the natural scenes for the most part is pretty basic, thats what Vue is good at it. It can do some crazy enviromental shit.

fucking tell me about it. i did 3d modeling for about 4 years. don't mean to brag but i was pretty good, i did extremely complex models for games that had really small poly counts and literally no artifacts. the only thing i NEVER understood was UV mapping, so i sent all my shit to other modelers to skin. that got tiresome, time consuming, and inconvenient so i gave up as a whole

although with these programs, its easy enough to learn where everything is at, learn some cool techniques, but I found that I never really got 'good' at it until I had to do a few projects in it. Once you do some stuff people use then you find out what works and what is mostly useless.
