I'm sure there are plenty of others that I'm missing here... Anyway, it seems like the logistics of getting swampster to allow new mods is a bigger hurdle than finding mods.

Give the thread started the ability to moderate his own thread. That would save a lot of problems. But that would basicly mean redoing the entier forum software. Thread starters can already delete their own threads though. You could give the starter the ability to delete posts. And you don't have to give anyone global power, and have to deal with the risk involved. I am sure that is why swamper isn't too keen on giving more people global powers in the forum.
