James Holden is one cool guy. After his set during one WMC, I had him leave a message for a friend who couldn't make it to WMC. Years later, he still remembers that!
He is probably blazed out of his mind. He's been known to take a few hits during his sets.

Holden circa 2003-04 is the Holden for me.
In retrospect, it was the perfect halfway point between his "Silver Planet" days and the rather overblown experimentalism that seemed to dominate his output ever since his "At The Controls" mix compilation.
As RJT once said, Border Community is just clown shoes now, and I hate to say it, but my impressions of Holden himself are largely similar.
