I realised that my original post made it sound like there were only three competitors. There are actually six. The stockbroker is getting beaten by some two-bit university student too.

In a similar vein, they have had monkeys paint canvasses and then done blind tests with art experts who have proclaimed them 'absolute genius!' and denigrated the pieces by human artists.

I really can't understand shit-cunts who don't want to work.

When I have sick days, I am usually bored by midday and craving some stimulation, and I don't even really like my job.

Work is the lesser of two evils.

its really not rocket science. would i prefer to play games all day or get up early and go spend time with people whom i normally wouldn't choose to hang out with?

you're doing it wrong. midday is when you have breakfast. if you are up early i mean.

yeah of course, but there's nothing in the stimulation rulebook that says you can't be stimulated by things that don't require you to wear a tie or be out of bed at unholy hours. what kinda work do you do?

work is like the greater of a bajillion evils.

everyone lives for the weekend. why would i want to limit the weekend to 2 days out of 7, if i could make it 7 for 7?

theres nothing saying that work has to be those things either

Theres plenty of things you could be doing instead of your job you hate. Just admit that you're too lazy to actually find your 'thing' and would rather be mooching off those who actually have ambition in life.

Games, internet and TV get boring after three or four hours. I'd love to hang out with my friends, but they're all at work during the day (surprise surprise!)

Believe me, I understand this. The other day I slept from 5pm to 9am. I love a good sleep. To be fair though, my example was when I am sick, which usually wakes me up. Also, after years of work, my bodyclock usually wakes me up at 8am anyway. Besides, sleep-ins are only good for three days, max. After that you catch up and it's all wasted time.

I work 10 hours in an office, but I sure as hell don't wear a tie.

My ideal mix would be three days at work, and four off, provided everyone else was on the same deal. Skipping work is great, but it's useless unless there are other people around to enjoy it with.

well, in my fantasy world all my friends have time off too and there's always time for new friends! you could hang out with BTG and ******** down the dole office.

see, my ideal mix would be whatever i wanted to do on any given day, which i would decide upon over breakfast, ~1.30pm

im always a little surprised by people's defenses of the institution of work, as if it was inherently good. as far as im concerned work is good because it gives me the ability to enjoy aspects of life other than work. imagine how much more of everything you could explore and experience if you weren't somebody else's property during the day. yeah karl, i still hear you *hugz*

I didn't say you are mooching off anyone.
I too though was being generic of people who would prefer to just be on welfare rather than trying to find out what their thing actually is. Like this BTG cockfag.
If you actually made an effort I'm sure you'd find something you could do instead of a job you hate, rather than just not trying because you think you'd hate everything.

This.

I believe that pretty much everyone with the constitution can find a job they enjoy, even the least intelligent and skillful among us.

p.s I am quitting my job at the end of this year and I can't fucking wait. I have around 7-8k of unpaid leave owing to me. I was never one for pointless holidays.

yeah, that's definitely true. but its also a matter of simply not being able to downsize the income to follow something less tangible. i have to chase the dollar now. nobody aint gonna pay me for playing no games, yo. fit more negatives in a single sentence and ill give you a cookie.

ive always considered holidays to be innately point-ful. kinda like nature. there is an inherent "worth" to it even as a kid i fucking hated getting up in the morning for school.

I have to go with PKC on this one. I have serious doubts that I'll ever find a job where the interesting aspects outweigh the boring or annoying ones. My standard for a "good" job is something I would want to do even if I never had to work for a living, e.g. if I inherited a bunch of wealth or something. Making music would be one such "job."
