Did you read the manual?

When in session view click and drag up on the top of the section of the db meters.

yeah i think that its cool they made the dB meters like that so if u dont wanna have them in focus you can minimize em or if you're tryna mix down you can maximize em

Ah ok makes sense.

I have to admit I went through the manual but it was going aggravatingly slow.
So then I found like an 11 part tutorial on youtube by sonic academy. WOW, really making some nice progress now.. pretty cool too so far.

Ok stupid question.
First I want to say I figured the fx out and maybe I'm crazy but the fx just sound so nicer then FLs. The chorus and reverbs sound much deeper and warmer imo, just not sure about the compressor yet.

Anyway, I'm confused. Making clips makes sense, but do you have to record all this into the main sequencer?

Im pretty sure Ill find it if you can do it but is there a way to place clips from session view to arrangment view? Because I need to get my clips into the sequencer, which I assume is called "arrangment view" in Live? But they're seperate windows so it doesnt look like you can drag anything..

Ahh! I figured it out.

You gotta drag those bastards all the way over to the arrangement icon then it switches view and allows you to drop it in the sequencer.

And I figured that shit out by accident. Now NOTHING can stop me!!!

Here's a cool tidbit. Make your clips line up horizontally in the session view, press the record button near the play button at the top of the screen. Finally, hit the play button on the master channel next to your row of clips.

Dude I was in the same boat using Cubase. I found that (for me anyway) it took far too long to do certain things. I used Reason for a couple of years when I first started producing, then Reason and Cubase in Re-wire for a few years after that. I ended up almost selling my entire setup as I completely lost motivation. I think the biggest reason for that was dreading having to open Cubase every day. I just find everything about it so boring and I never got anywhere with my tracks. I tried my hardest to organise everything and keep it neat, but the further i went in to a track the more I got lost in the web of mess.

In the end I took some time off making ANY music whatsoever. When I got back in to it, I ended up ditching Cubase and starting fresh with a new copy of Ableton and have never looked back. It might have taken me a few weeks to learn it inside out, but I had a friend to teach me the basics so I guess I was lucky.

Now I thoroughly enjoy making music again and can't to get home every day and have a bash on my Virus TI. Speaking of which the Virus has not once ever crashed on me using Ableton where it used to crash once a week using Cubase!!

I say fight your way through the learning stage and you will be loving it in no time!!
