Mediocre at best, and it pains me to say so. Bad sound didn't help. My biggest complaint is that PVD kept hinting at songs I love but didn't play them out. But it was really an old friends meet-up event for me, so no loss.

I've long ago handed in my PvD fanclub card and stopped following his gigs or productions... "home" was a sad reminder of the greatness that once posessed the man - now it's all about wacky schtick. There are so many times one can hope for greatness and be let down.

PvD was brilliant when he did not jump from track to track without even getting to the build-up. Ableton has made him a gimmicky posterboy for how to alienate your older fanbase. Too A.D.D. for my taste.

I'm glad I didn't go this year - leaves some hope that I may see him again sometime, albeit a chance of that is slim... Oh well, John O'Callaghan has stepped up to the plate and looks to be a prime successor to fill PvD's spot - even his track sound PvD-ish...

And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

I wish he just had 2 CDJs and a Mixer and went old school, but hey
I give they guy credit for doing things diff. Sound and drummers where already discussed and I agree. Just a good Party Vibe the entire night, so cant complain on my end...

I mean I really don't mind that he uses Ableton but at least mix the songs right and let the flow keep building instead of cutting each song so short. That is just my opinion.

....

the issue is that the set was artificial, no emotion,
no beauty, no magic, no edge, plenty of $ commercial
sound... unlike arc's even!ng in the fall of 2001
iny... pure of trancenergy... wowowow...
