Never paid attention to Deep Dish. Dubfire has some interesting tracks out there. Not sure what the problem is.

i was going to see him in windsor with hawtin but it didn't work out

He is NOT Minimal and he is NOT Progressive. This is exactly what we're talking about. He's coming out with this bog-standard, white noise build, big room Techno and he's labeling it "underground Minimal" while claiming to be pioneering it. At that point, people like you fall for it and buy into it. You're part of the problem.

Of course a touring DJ has done more than a DJ posting on these forums. What kind of fucking argument is that?

The impression I get is he got sick of the direction Deep Dish were going, however profitable it may be. If you look at what Sharam has done since they split, it was probably his influence.

I don't really know, but the last time I saw Deep Dish together Sharam and Dubfire were barely speaking, it was super awkward in the DJ booth that night, however both were extremely friendly and talkative to us and the people in the booth/vip area. I ran into Sharam again a few months later and asked him how Ali was... he gave off the impression he didn't really know (or cared). This was back in late 2007/early 2008.

oh sorry that i miscategorized it as being minimal even when i meant techno. jesus you people are fucking picky

also when i was referring to prog i was talking about deep dish, not his solo work

Can you really call Deep Dish "progressive"? I have Junk Science and it sounds like mainstream deep house to me.

Dubfire is more proof that clever, false advertising can work really well for electronic artists.

Deep Dish never was progressive at all other than some of their remixes from the 90s like EBTG - Wrong.
