You can franchise the name, who knows what the rules are or if they're just calling it for the fun of it and hope they don't get sued. But I'm pretty sure there are clubs all over the world called Amnesia that have no affiliation with the one in Ibiza

A few months back I heard that Twilo was making a come back with the old SOL location, and now this is popping up. I got to find out some more info on this venue.

You can use the same name state by state without franchising ex- Amnesia NY and Amnesia NY have different owners. Also, one could be Amnesia Inc and the other can be Amnesia LLC, they could both operate in the same state. If they were to franchise or copyright the name, you have to do it in each country you expect to have business in. Still, I would be embarrassed to use the same name as a legendary place for our community. Some people have no shame.

I kind of question their character by trying to sell their shit off another club. It would be a lot more respectable to just have a new name.

Not unless it's trademarked in the US.

That's what happened with that whole Stereo lawsuit a few years ago when the Montreal club opened a sister club here and the venue that was Coral Room sued them because they had already been using that name and they were pretty close to each other in terms of location (if I remember remotely correctly).
