The Torq XPonent seems like exactly what I want and falls within my budget.

Good choice... to me it all boils down to personal preference. I use an Xponent with torq, and i can sync torq with ableton which is pretty bad ass. The xponent is pretty solid, all in one and its light weight, so its easy to transport. Torq took some getting used to when I used the Connective w/ control vinyl.. I think Traktor is the best iof you want a solid DVS system... but if you want strait digital, go for the Xponent.

I will say its not the best controller interface for Ableton, so I bring an Akai APC 40 when I want to integrate Ableton into my sets.
