I don't think a person born entirely without senses would be "insane," they just would not have much of a mind in the first place. Other than autonomic functions, the brain is devoted to assimilating sense experience, coordinating the body's movements in the world, and communication. The parts of the brain devoted to those things develop only if a person actually does them: people paralyzed early have very underdeveloped motor areas, people born blind have underdeveloped sight areas, etc. A person without senses would not be doing any of those things for development, so what would their brain be devoted do, and how would it develop at all?

Not a study, but other primates will grow sickly and even die if raised simply without social contact, let alone deprived of all their senses...
