No I dont use fx packs I made all the sweeps and fx in the tune.

I made a beat in Guru ----> Mixdown ----> TAL Flanger ----> chopped by hand -----> Glitch

The only samples you will find in my tunes are single hit percussion samples. Thanks for the interesting thing though shame you didnt like the overall track.

Rob thanks for your continued observations mate I still cant find the cymbal is too loud im gonna check with a few friends family etc see what people say.

Processing a highly structured and complex pattern of sensory input as a unified percept of "music" is probably one of the most elaborate features of the human brain.....understanding how music is perceived and how it may elicit intense sensations is far from being understood.

The track is fairly nice but does'nt really grab me, as it's fairly generic - sorry to be so harsh, I know what a downer comments like this can be, but on the other hand we have to be honest with one another.

Plucks are ok, but nothing great, I would tweak these personally to get that professional sparkle, maybe with some metalising from subbtle flanging, better verb settings etc

offset chords sound harsh and too bit crushed or something - maybe a tad more should come through on the kick hit (assuming those chords are sidechain compressed pumping that is). At the mo mthey just sound too squashed and grainy.

square lead is quite nice but a little unoriginal. You can get away with retro sounds like this, but IMO such a basic sound still has to be slightly tweaked to give it new life and quirkyness. Cant really give you specific pointers, all I know is I would tweak a sound like that adinfenitum until it took on a fresh feel.

Over quality and structure is pretty good and the mix side sounds faily good to me.

Also there is a lack of bottom end warmth, and maybe a tad more at say 300-500htz could fill the warmth end a little - not sure.
