Well I can't speak from experience as I have neither, but I was just saying that at the expense that a CDJ 900 is, it seems like the CDJ 400 have a lot of nice features for the price and the feel is closer to the CDJ 800 or 900 vs the CDJ 200, but it isn't really as big as the one on the CDJ 2000 or 1000 MK3. It's definitely closer to the feel of a real one than the jog-wheel on a CDJ 200.

tony

are you buying 2 x 2000s or 2 x 900s?

concerning serato/traktor and these decks, why would anyone use a laptop when this new technology allows you to keep all ur music on just one HD/usb key. Think about it!

I prefer my laptop..

I spent 1600 on a MBP, and I get control over my collection and the ability to spin tunes. I also get an amazing laptop that can do a whole lot more.

Buying the 2000's would cost me about twice that. All i'll get to do on those is play music.

I dunno, until prices come down drastically. I'm quite happy with my DVS system

i'll probably just wind up getting the software

the club here in calgary i play at books top names all the time, it's only a matter of time before they'll be getting a pair or more for the club

i already only use a usb key, almost everywhere else i play, someone has serato that i can plug into

or they have 1000mk3's and i just burn a pair of mp3 discs

When will we be able to buy the 900s -- say from djdeals.com or agiprodj? is there a specific release date? and I take it they are $1300? that's the price I see everywhere. I'd like to grab meself a pair, an early Christmas gift

Bumping this thread since I'm currently pouring over this quandary.

The 900 has gone up in price from 999 to 1295 at most retailers (though agi would probably discount it). However, this is still cheaper than the 1000mk3 at most other retailers (usually 1495).

Really, the only thing I see that the 1000mk3 has that the 900 doesn't have is the jog adjust option which I've only played on the 1000mk2's so I can't really compare it and whether the jog adjust is really all that pivotal.

Slip mode seems like it'd be fun to mess with, and the ability to use and link different forms of media on the 900 is awesome, and for $200 less I'm certainly leaning more towards them.

Any reasons as to why I should not (now that they've been out for a little while). Are there any bugs in firmware or is it too early to tell?

I have the 2000's, and so far the firmware is quite stable. I'd definitely go for the 900's over the 1000's... Resale for the 900's whenever you upgrade will also probably be better then the 1000's, they are just the next generation of technology.

Yeh, the only thing I can think of that the 1000 has that the 900 doesn't is the jog adjust.

And from what I remember hearing it was kind of weak on the 1000 and much improved on the 2000.

So far the 900 is winning out.
