There is was no cardboard box on the bottom this entire time. The silver thing was just the balloon itself.. The commentator said there was a hook thing on the bottom and that is likely what the basket was attached to. It could have fallen off anywhere within the first few minutes..and they said the baloon likely rose at 200-300 feet per minute. The kid had about 10 seconds to make the decision to jump,because if you fall from more than 30 feet, R.I.P.
